Cottage
A lovingly restored canal workers cottage, ideally situated beside the locks. The cottage is located in the conservation area of Top Locks, surrounded by the canal and fields, perfect for walks and bike rides in the Lancashire countryside. The local village of Burscough is close by, bustling with popular cafes and pubs. Just opposite on the other side of the canal is the famous Ship Inn, visited by people from all over the county. We love welcoming guests to this special corner of Lancashire, the cottage is a perfect base to explore the area and caters for guests in all seasons, with a log burning fire and a wood fired hot tub.

The perfect base after a busy day exploring. Light the fire, sink into the sofa, and enjoy fast wifi, Sky TV, Sky Sports and Netflix, as well as some local publications and our Lancashire Library.

We provide snacks and sundries for our guests. A selection of tea and coffee is provided, along with Nespresso pods. Basic cooking supplies (oil, salt, pepper, sauces) and some breakfast supplies are available!

With views over the lock, the Master bedroom has a comfortable king bed, relaxer chairs, plenty of storage, a hairdryer, and access to an iron/ironing board.

Looking over the farmland to the rear of the property, the second bedroom has a large bed, with a dressing rail and table.
Bathroom
A country modern bathroom with heated towel rail and illuminated mirror. Whether you are a bath or shower person, you'll enjoy relaxing here.
Free Standing Bath
This freestanding bath has a history of its own. Cast iron and enamel, a vintage piece that is a real treat, for those that want to relax, and perfect for muddy toes and paws.
Outdoor decking area
This space is perfect in all seasons, for a coffee in the morning or a bbq with friends. At night time it comes alive with lights from above.
Hot Tub
A very special addition to the cottage, a wood fired hot tub, with bubbles and LED lights. After a long day of walks, this is the ultimate way to unwind.

Our dog Fred warmly welcomes your fluffy friends to Top Locks Cottage. Up to two well behaved and toilet trained pets are welcome to join as your travel companions.
